&lt;p&gt;Honestly, most Vine marketing posts and articles describe the same kinds of things that people have long been doing with web and mobile video. But that doesn&amp;#8217;t mean they aren&amp;#8217;t good things to do. Combining familiar tasks with new tech is almost always a good play.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2) You&amp;#8217;re an artist? Do something creative!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Not all musicians are artists per se. Some are hacks, some are technicians, some are a combination of all three. But any reasonably competent musician can come up with something interesting on Vine that will help build their brand just because it&amp;#8217;s a creative act and most people have been fooled into thinking only artists can be creative.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However, the best case scenario is to do something truly creative yet accessible that relies on Vine&amp;#8217;s unique attributes &lt;a href="http://blog.omusicawards.com/2013/04/musician-creates-interactive-air-organ-with-vine/" target="_blank"&gt;as did Noah Wall&lt;/a&gt; with his &lt;a href="http://www.mtvhive.com/2013/04/23/action-bronson-vine/" target="_blank"&gt;HOME DRONE&lt;/a&gt; air organ.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We’ve been discussing personal brands at &lt;em&gt;Fast Company&lt;/em&gt; for a while now—&lt;a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/28905/brand-called-you" target="_self"&gt;like since 1997&lt;/a&gt;—but most of the time when we discuss the &lt;a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/28905/brand-called-you" target="_self"&gt;Brand Called You&lt;/a&gt;, we fittingly focus on &lt;a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1805231/u-r-what-u-tweet-5-steps-better-personal-brand" target="_self"&gt;Twitter tai chi&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/1841374/3-linkedin-etiquette-rules-you-should-never-break" target="_self"&gt;LinkedIn leverage&lt;/a&gt;. While these mediums are essential, we do live at least some of our lives offline—and your personal brand is present there, though you don’t get automated emails about it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What we need, then, is a more holistic perspective. &lt;a href="http://www.forbes.com/sites/glennllopis/2013/04/08/personal-branding-is-a-leadership-requirement-not-a-self-promotion-campaign/"&gt;Writing for &lt;em&gt;Forbes&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, Glenn Llopis supplies us with one:&lt;/p&gt;
